Special interests, services and procedures offered:
Medical consultations via sick parade, inoculations, comprehensive preventative health examination, annual health assessments, standard physiotherapy, pharmacy dispensing services, and health examinations for specific purposes such as diving, parachuting, and submariners.

Area Health Service also offers support and education sessions for weight management, sexual health, alcohol and drug abuse,  and skin cancer prevention and management.

Area Health Service has an operating theatre facility at Edinburgh which provides the surgical services for general, oral, orthopaedic, plastics and ENT (ear, nose and throat) surgery.

Regional Highlights

  • National Military Vehicle Museum :
    The museum is operated by members of the Military Vehicle Preservation Society of South Australia.

    The vehicles are not just restored to look at, they are rebuilt to authentic running condition and most are road registered and driven regularly. Military vehicles and items range from the First World War to current times.
  • Penfield Model Railway
    Penfield Park Model Railway features 120 metres of a railway track, radio controlled power and sail boats that cruise around a new 3,000 cubic metre boat pond and radio controlled quarter scale speedway race cars that career around a newly built racetrack.
