Pioneer Medical Centre is an AGPAL accredited practice that has existed in the North Eastern area of Adelaide since 1994. Patients that attend our practice reside in the areas of Banksia Park, Redwood Park, Ridgehaven, Tea Tree Gully, Golden Grove, Modbury, St Agnes, Hope Valley and nearby foothills towns of Kersbrook, and Gumeracha. Pioneer Medical Centre has a patient base that is diverse in both age and health requirements, providing registrars with exposure to chronic disease management, paediatric management, obstetric shared care, work injuries and general preventative health management. Pioneer Medical Centre has 6 GPs with diverse interests, 1 full time practice manager and 3 part time registered nurses, as well as an experienced reception team. The practice is fully computerized, using Pracsoft and Medical Director and privately bills patients. General Practitioners visit local nursing homes and have admitting rights to a local hospital, North Eastern Community Hospital. Pioneer Medical Centre sees training as a team responsibility with all GPs participating in hosting medical students and providing support for registrars. Our vision is to provide comprehensive holistic care for our patients in a caring personalized environment.

  • The Hope Valley Reservoir
     
    A 2840 megalitre service reservoir in Hope Valley. When completed in 1873 it was the second reservoir constructed in Adelaide; it is the oldest still in use in South Australia.It covers 52 hectares (128 acres) and is retained behind a 950-metre (3,117 ft) long clay-cored earth wall. Water is transferred from the River Torrens via a tunnel and aqueduct.
