'Closing the Gap'

AOGP Reconciliation Action Plan

AOGP has spent the last 12 months collaborating with the Aboriginal community of South Australia on the development of our Reconciliation Action Plan.

AOGP recognised the need to strengthen existing relationships with the Aboriginal community as well as establish new relationships. We saw the need for AOGP to have a clear vision of our role in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health training.

The AOGP RAP is based around key themes of Relationships , Respect and Opportunities and has received endorsement from peak body , Reconciliation Australia.

The process of developing the RAP has been a journey of learning and understanding  for not only the Working Group but for AOGP as an organisation.

AOGP’s vision underpinning our RAP is that our GP Registrar, Training Posts, Supervisors and AOGP staff have an understanding of and respect for the journey towards reconciliation with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and are inspired to join the journey towards ongoing reconciliation including to 'Close the Gap.'
