Improving fluency

ESTIMATED TIME: 30 minutes

Fluent speakers may not necessarily know all the words of a language, but what they can do is match the rhythms of the people they are speaking with. They are also able use vocabulary appropriately in various contexts; this is referred to as knowing the 'conventions' of a language. Effective use of the rhythms and conventions of a language reduces barriers to communication. The less barriers to communication that you have, the more fluent in the language you will appear.

This module contains:
  1. Rhythms
  2. Language Conventions
