AOGP Slang Handbook (PDF)

Collins Cobuild Dictionaries & Reference Books
The Collins Cobuild Dictionaries are recommended by many ESL teachers. They provide information about word meaning in full sentences, and illustrate the grammatical patterns and typical context of each word.

The Free Dictionary
This is a free online dictionary that provides audio bites illustrating the pronunciation of each word. Note that it is US-based, so pronunciations are in American English, not Australian English.

Australian Medical Expressions
This is a Federal Government Department of Health and Ageing webpage that links ‘to courses or other reference sites for Australian medical terminology, health information or organisations that can help overseas trained doctors (OTDs) to become more proficient in English for the medical profession’.
