Have the FMC Emergency Department proforma on your desk/desktop and use it for every eye case you see in the next month. This can be included as a “shortcut” on most medical software.

Try and get involved with as many acute eye presentations as possible to consolidate your learning. Consider asking the reception staff to book all acute eye presentations in with you for the next month. Let your colleagues know you are focusing on eyes and ask them to let you know if they encounter an eye problem.

Consider running a brief tutorial on “Assessment of the Red Eye” for colleagues, students or nurses at the local hospital to consolidate learning.
